Self Development Program Committee celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2019. On this occasion, a lecture and demonstration on “Pranayam” were organized. Dr. P.B. Rshikesan, Scientific Officer “H”, NPCIL Mumbai was invited. He has completed his Ph.D. in Yoga and also completed a diploma in yoga therapy and teacher training course. He is a yoga researcher and QCI (Govt. of India AYUSH Dept.) certified yoga teacher.
The program was started by offering flowers to the icon of Padmabhusan Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil. The preamble of the program was given by Ms. Manminder Riyat. Vice Principal Dr. Shubhda Nayak introduced the guest of honor and Principal Dr. V. S. Shivankar welcomed guest by offering floral bouquet.
Dr. Rshikesan discussed the importance of yoga in daily life and also that how to align and control thoughts. He discussed the history of yoga and also gave various examples to relate the ancient art of yoga with scientific knowledge. Simple “Pranayam” types were demonstrated and its importance was discussed. Vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Hemangi Gavit and program was concluded with the national anthem.
