Department of Physics
The Department was established in July 1979. The first T.Y.B.Sc. Batch was appeared for university examination in April, 1986 & Result was 96%. The department offers B. Sc. (6 Units), M.Sc. (By Research), and Ph.D. Programmes. The department has two well equipped laboratories, separate departmental staff room & a cabin for head of the department. The department has been organizing a variety of activities for the personality and academic development of the student which includes lectures by eminent speakers, study tours and group discussions etc. The expert and eminent professor’s takes lot of efforts to improve overall the quality of the students. Well equipped laboratory with all amenities are fully utilized for the students. For the degree level, the department has various equipments viz. Oscilloscopes, Signal generators, Hall Effect apparatus, Helium Laser beam source, Spectrometers etc. The practicals are conducted in three sessions.
In this academic year, For F.Y.B.Sc., S.Y.B.Sc. and T.Y.B.Sc. 300, 72 and 13 students have taken admission respectively.

UGC and DST sponsored Two Days National Conference on Physics of Semiconductor Devices and Smart Materials (NC-PSDSM-07) was organized on Dec. 22-23, 2007.
One day state level seminar on “CENTURY OF RELATIVITY” was organized on account of World Year of Physics by the department on 3rd Dec. 2005.
One day state level seminar on “Recent Trends in Physics” was organized by the department on 31st Mar. 2003.
